An\u00a0excerpt from my\u00a0opera-in-progress inspired by the life of Mabel Dodge Luhan\u00a0will be featured this weekend on Six Scenes<\/em>: an exciting showcase\u00a0presented by American Opera Projects.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This concert previews the future of opera with an evening of scenes from six operas\u00a0developed during AOP’s\u00a0latest season of Composers & the Voice<\/strong>, the Brooklyn-based fellowship training program that I’ve been privileged to participate in since Fall 2015.<\/p>\n

Two scenes from Mabel’s Call <\/em>will be performed\u00a0by\u00a0Tookah Sapper, soprano, as Mabel Dodge Luhan; Blake Friedman, tenor, as Maurice Sterne; and Kyle Guglielmo, baritone, as Tony Lujan,\u00a0with music director Mila Henry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
