Hear a Christmas fairy tale set in the magical world of “The Wizard of Oz”!<\/h4>\n

Librettist\u00a0Edward Einhorn\u00a0and I first started dreaming up\u00a0The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus<\/em>,\u00a0a family opera adaptation of the 1902 holiday classic by L. Frank Baum, back in 2015 while we were both fellows in AOP’s\u00a0Composers & the Voice\u00a0program.<\/p>\n

This nontraditional Christmas fairy tale set in the magical world of “The Wizard of Oz” has always captured my imagination. Now I’m delighted to share that there will be a workshop preview of our opera-in-progress, in person in NYC and streaming online!<\/p>\n

Hear 25 minutes of excerpts from\u00a0The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus<\/em>, performed in a piano-vocal concert reading of two holiday operas next\u00a0Thursday, June 2 at\u00a07:30pm EDT\u00a0<\/strong>at\u00a0OPERA America\u2019s National Opera Center, 330 7th Ave, New York, NY,<\/strong>\u00a0in a presentation by Edward Einhorn’s\u00a0Untitled Theater Company No. 61<\/a>. “Claus”\u00a0<\/em>will be paired with excerpts from\u00a0Exagoge<\/em>, Edward’s opera on Passover themes with composer Avner Finberg.<\/p>\n
